The field of medicine is very wide and this is becoming increasingly so, with time. As a result, it is harder for physicians to be proficient at the diverse competencies required to deal with any cancer patient.

This means that physicians should always be aware of their strengths as well as their limitations. In addition, patients must take responsibility for their care. This includes doing research on their diagnosis so as to become aware of the many facets of heath care that pertains to their particular problem.
