» P_Al - List of Cancer Support Groups

Being a part of a community is important for most persons. This often becomes even more meaningful in the face of a cancer diagnosis or when one is living with or caring for a cancer patient.

I am starting a list of cancer support groups here. Please join in with those you know. It doesn't matter which country they are in, because there is a wide range of readers on the site. You could give a brief description, explain what kind of cancer (s) they are involved with and even add a link to them.

I will start with a few here.

• OncoChat - This is an online support service for cancer patients and their families. See link: http://www.oncochat.org/ or http://www.oncochat.net/ Just follow the link on the front-page.

• Reach to Recovery - This is a USA-based breast cancer support program. You can find information on their activities in you area by entering your ZIP code on their website: http://www.cancer.org/docroot/COM/COM_0.... or by calling 1-800-ACS-2345.

• Children's Oncology Camping Association International - http://www.coca-intl.org/ You can find information on various camping opportunities for children with cancer. The camps are in different countries including USA, Canada and Europe.

Hi All,

I found another interesting support group. You can gain access via the following link; http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Can...

This is one of the health groups at Yahoo. It is geared towards the caregivers of cancer patients, who are sometimes neglected.
