If diagnosed at an early stage, the outcome can be quite favourable in terms of survival. However, a major risk of radical prostatectomy is erectile dysfunction due to nerve damage. This can be reduced with the utilization of nerve-sparing techniques during surgery as well as the use of drugs like Viagra.
