» P_Al - What about Personal Pages?

I would like to know how you feel about having your own page on the cancer site. You may be a cancer patient, cancer survivor, relative or friend of someone with cancer now or in the past. Your page would be a discussion thread for you to develop you own story. Whether you want to chronicle your own experience or that of another, give advice or reach out to others with a similar problem, this could be an ideal forum for you.
.
What do you think? Share your thoughts, concerns and interests.

Personal pages sound like such a big commitment, though. And what would I put on there that I haven't already said in previous discussions? Plus, I'm concerned because the way I am, I'd be really disappointed if I don't get a good response. I already get disappointed if I post something and ten minutes later there's no reply. So, I don't know if I could handle my own page.

Plus I'm still kind of curious about how a personal page would differ from the regular discussion pages.

A personal page would be for your own entries on whatever you wish to share. Any contributions must be based on your content/issue. This would not be an open discussion like the regular discussions. For example a cancer patient may use this as a sort of online diary. Or someone may wish to share their knowledge on a particular subject. It will be more structured and specific. The schedule is totally up to that person, so is the content (within the general rules of the site).
.
This will not be for everyone. It's an idea that I am throwing out for whoever feels that this is for them. Thanks for the feedback and honesty.
.
I will be posting more information on this next week on my homepage (blog) as well as in the discussions i.e guidelines for these pages. Have a read and let me know what you think.
