It's is helpful to understand what results don't mean.
Or what tests can't prove. Or that positive symptoms aren't really all that positive in layman's language. This is the sort of information that gives power over unnecessary stress. I remember my father sitting us down and gravely telling us he was to have an ECG or whatever.
As indicated earlier, I'm going to put FOBTs on my 'To Do' list. And I hear you re yearly check-ups. I have used a free kit maybe only 2 or 3 times over the last 10 years that has been provided at information stalls or GP surgery waiting rooms and posted them off. The report comes back to me.
Actually, no report goes directly to my GP if I can help it. Despite the warning, I always open the envelope and read it. I know the language.

I can surely identify with that
- after all its your health. It's funny though how hard it is for us all to do things for our own good even when we know better. I am as guilty as any . One of the challenges when it comes to screening is that it involves asymptomatic persons. The lack of distress tends to nullify any urgency that one might muster.
Glad you are going to put FOBTs on your 'To Do' list. Although not the most pleasant task, at least it is non-invasive.
